| Scandinavian Specialties (the leader in Scandinavian foods and imports ) first opened its doors in April of 1962 under the name of Norwegian Sausage Company. They operated out
of a very small space in Seattle's Ballard location. Equipment was brought
from Norway to make all the sausages. The Current owners moved the store
to a new, larger location in Ballard where there is now enough space
to have their import business (ScanSelect, Inc.) in the same location.
A small cafe was added and now authentic Scandinavian lunch is served daily. With the move
we were also able to expand our Scandinavian gift items, books, CDs,
etc., and have a large selection . We are currently working on getting
those items added to this web site.
Since we import (our quality scandinavian foods and products) directly from Scandinavia, the owners travel regularly to Scandinavia to look for new products. If there are items you are interested in that you cannot find on our web site, please feel free to send us an e-mail at foods@scanspecialties.com and we will try to add those to our list of products. |
