BUY FENALAAR SPEKEKJOTT NOW:
HISTORY OF FENALAAR SPEKEKJOTT:
Norwegian Cured Dried Leg of Lamb Christmas Holidays
It is literally translated from Norwegian as "lamb leg." It is a traditional Christmas dish in the western parts of Norway. Fenalaar Spekekjott is salted, dried and sometimes smoked leg of lamb. Used as part of a smorgasbord feast / buffet.
Sour cream and Norwegian flat bread make an excellent accompaniment to serving of the Fenalaar Spekekjott. Traditionally, beer and akevitt are served with Fenalaar Spekekjott, but it has become increasingly popular to drink red wine instead, but only since wine is becoming more popular in general.
Though still mostly served in the western parts of the country ("Vestlandet"), Fenalaar Spekekjott is gaining popularity in other parts of Norway, too. |
